Understanding Online Advertising with the new Uganda's AdNote+

Revenue GrowthWeb-based advertising via banner ads and such has yet to grow into the vast revenue stream as envisioned in the early days of the Web. While larger sites do make money from online advertising, it is often harder for smaller sites to realize the benefits.
For the advertisers on the other hand, only a few with a larger advertising budgets can gain access to the much craved space on heavy traffic sites.
AdNote+ levels the playing field by allowing sites of all sizes to earn money via relevant advertising and a technique that allows limited budget advertisers to place their ads on heavy traffic sites . Let's take a closer look at the AdNote+ program and explore how you can benefit from it.
What is it?
The key feature of AdNote+ is the minimum amount of time and effort it takes to have an advert online. For a publisher, it allows you to earn advertising revenue from each site page and for the advertiser this enhances your advert's visibility. Relevant ads based on the site's content are delivered to a site as text or images. It is a very flexible solution that allows you to easily incorporate ads on your site, and it is very easy to get started with the program.
Getting started
We have made it easy to get up and running with AdNote+ via an online application. During the sign up process, you specify a publisher or advertiser account through the different forms available.
During initial sign up, you must agree with policies that outline what is permitted under the program. An interesting stipulation is that ads may not be placed on pages without content, which is a common practice these days. Also, you must agree to the following guidelines in the application:
  • I agree that I will not click on the ads I'm serving through AdNote+.
  • I will not place ads on sites that include incentives to click on ads.
  • I agree that I can receive checks made out to the payee name I have listed above.
  • I certify that I have read the AdNote+ Program Policies.
The key aspect of the AdNote program is getting paid (for the publisher) and having your advert get as much attention as possible (for the advertiser), so let's learn how that works.
Show me the money
The ads displayed on your site pages use two cost structures (for advertisers): cost-per-click (CPC) or cost-per-1,000-impressions (CPM) [together known as Cost-Per-Action], and Rented service or tenancy (where ads are served for a flat fee per given period of time, say a month).
The advertisers pay either when users click on ads, or when the advertiser's ad is shown on a site. Using this model, you will receive a portion of the amount paid for either activity on your site. The minimum payment amount is 100,000 UGX so you won't get paid until you have at least that much money in your account (apart from publishers signed up on the tenancy program). Once you sign up, you'll have access to reports via email to track account activity.
Making it work
Once a publisher signs up and defines available space, AdNote team will send them a code snippet to insert on the site in order to invoke the adverts. A few mouse clicks along with the copy and paste of code and your site is realizing the rewards of advertising placement.
Once the advertiser signs up with AdNote+, they will be requested to supply the ad content (banners, text, flash video) for particular campaigns, this content will be distributed as per the agreement with AdNote+.

While it is a simple product to utilize, it offers various options as well.
Reporting
AdNote+'s reporting capabilities are one of the program's best features. You can easily track what works and what doesn't using the program on your site. The reports are too much to cover in detail, but once you sign up and begin using the program, you'll appreciate their power.
Enhance your site and increase your revenue
Developing banner ads or any other types of site advertisements can be time-consuming. In addition, recruiting advertisers and handling payment options present problems. Our network provides the answer for sites big and small with its AdNote+ program, which makes it easy to place ads on your site with minimal effort. Collecting revenue from the program is simple as well, so everything is handled without much effort on your end.
