A jar full of moles, skeletons everywhere and half a chimpanzee's head: Inside the incredible Grant Museum of Zoology where thousands of creatures are preserved

Museum

The Grant Museum of Zoology is the only remaining university zoological museum in London. It houses around 67,000 specimens, covering the whole animal kingdom. Its cabinets are packed with skeletons, mounted animals and specimens. The collection was founded in 1828 as a teaching collection by Robert Grant and many of the species it features are now endangered or extinct - including the Tasmanian Tiger (or Thylacine) and the Dodo.
